Abbotsford Extension
We recently commissioned Hardat to perform a significant demolition, excavation and build a modern extension to our period home. While we were very happy with the quality of workmanship, we were most impressed with Hardat efficiency and punctuality.We were never concerned about progress due to regular (often daily) updates. Chris was always on-site and always in control. While the extension had been designed by an architect, Chris provided his own suggestions to enhance the finished product. We too were able to make changes to the plan as the project took shape – Chris was very flexible and understanding. We have recommended Chris to a number of friends looking to do similar projects.

Award Winning Renovation & Extension
About four years or so ago, Wendy and I decided to renovate our old house in Carlton North. This was not going to be an easy task as the building was 170+ years old and in major disrepair. We engaged Chris (trading as Hardat Developments Pty Ltd) to be in full control of the project – part demolition, new concrete base, installation of iron girders to support a major internal attic, removal of walls and then a complete revamp of inside. We needed to keep the same footprint as well as not disturb the heritage overlay features. During the planning and design stages, Chris was involved in making suggestions re possible cost savings without compromising the quality of the end product. During construction time, Chris was on site the entire time, managing his tradesmen and ensuring all was going to plan. The outcome of the project was exactly what a home renovator wants – extremely courteous and friendly manner, control of tradesmen, finishing on the predetermined deadline and on budget. Wendy and I enjoyed the experience as well as being very pleased with our “new” home. Chris, by the way, won the 2011 MBA award for best renovation – our renovation.
